Moon River, Wider than a mile....

So I decided that my favorite song is "Moon River" today, actually a while ago I just redecided today after listening to it. It's such a pretty song and makes me happy when I listen to it. Doesn't even matter who sings it although I will say that the Frank Sanatra version is the best.

Besides my renewed found love for Moon River nothing else is new besides me not getting the same flight back to the U.P. as Golda and Jeremy. Luckily while they were still at Melissas we checked our iteneraries and found out that I some how managed to make my reservations for the next day, same times just wrong date, so now I got to spend an extra day in Kansas. Melissa is gonna drive me up to Kansas City tomorrow morning and then on Monday I fly out to go see Betsy and Trent! I don't mind spending more time down here, I feel bad about the inconvience I am causing Melissa though now, but I'm not missing spending an extra day in Gladstone at all. That's about it for now though update everybody later!

I heart hats!

I decided today that hats are a good accesory, they can be used for so many different reasons here is my list of things that hats are good for.
1.) keeping the sun out of your eyes
2.) keeping the sun off your face/ neck
3.) keeping your head warm in the winter
4.) covering your hair from getting wet ( the rain coat hat things, I don't know that correct term for them)
5.) a street preformer can put them on the ground to collect money in them
6.) the can hold beverages sometimes so you don't have to hold a cup
7.) my personal favorite, covering your hair when you haven't showered and you really need one but have to go to class.

I pulled off number 6 today, I decided to sleep in rather then take a shower this morning the results, me covering up my beautiful hair with a hat and tromping off to class and nobody even knew! don't worry, I came home during my break and showered so now I smell nice and clean!

Another good thing about hats is that they come in so many different styles!!!

YAY for Gamma Omicron!!!!

So Friday morning at 5:30(ish) a.m. my pledge class (Gamma Omicron) at the sorority went through! YAY! Us four girls are now sisters!! It was really exciting but very tiring because we didn't get any sleep that night. After we got our letters, the sisters asked what we wanted to do, go to sleep or stay up and celebrate.we were way to excited to sleep so we decided to celebrate. We ended up walking across the alley to one of the Frats and waking them all up by banging pots and pans in the hall and screaming. I don't think the guys were to happy about that one but they put on smiles and congratualted the four of us. Needless to say the drowsiness started hitting us again pretty quickly and we all ended up leaving to go and sleep. I ended up sleeping until after 2:00 and still didn't quite feel completely rested, although I will say that that was the best nap ever in the world. Unfortunatly the rest of my weekend was just as busy so I still didn't get much sleep because Saturday the sorority and one of the frats threw our annual Christmas party for the kids that we mentor. After that a bunch of the girls went out to eat and to do some other things and then it was off to Phi Kaps formal for the night. Once I figure out how to get pictures on here I will put some on of the Gamma Omicron girls and formal.

Winter is here....About time!

I love winter, but yet hate it so much at the same time. Here is a list of the pros and cons of winter.

Pros:
Snow, Christmas (Lights, the tree, decorations, the smell, and the holiday!), Sledding, Snowboarding, Skiiing, Broomball, Winter Carnaval here at Tech (best time of the year!!), Snow Statues, Hot chocolate (Free hot chocolate during carnaval), having the excuse to sit on the couch with a blanket, Candy canes, Snowmen, snowball fights (when your not getting hit), looking outside knowing how cold it is but you are nice and toasty inside, catching snow flakes on your tounge as they fall, watching people slip on the ice.

Cons:
Shoveling the 3 feet of snow that fell the night before, Snow getting into your shoes, soaked mittens, cold cars, sweeping off your car, scraping ice off the windsheild, ice in general, slipping, shoveling out your car, face washes, not having snowdays because the school got sued or something like that last time they had one, getting lost on your way to class because it's snowing so bad out, driving in snow, being cold. if you have to wear dress shoes / heals in the snow that is NEVER fun! winter lasting 5 months.

Oh the joys of going to school up north in the middle of nowhere when winter lasts for over half of the school year! At least winter gives us something to do and to look forward too! Because I know it wouldn't be the same up here if we didn't have a place to snowboard /ski at and winter carnaval is so much fun!!!

Back to school...boo!

You know what the worst part about a break from school is? Having to go back. This morning was rough. Yesterday I didn't wake up until 1:30 pm and didn't decided to get out of bed until 2:00 because I was being lazy. So last night when I told myself that I had to go to bed I wasn't tired at all but forced myself to sleep. So this morning when 6:50 rolled around and my alarm went off I wasn't the happiest camper.

Enough about me not sleeping because I'm gonna have to get used to that again for the next 26 days again (not that I'm counting until Christmas break or anything). But anyways, Thanksgiving break was a lot of fun. Thursday after class I road down to Rochesster with my plsedge sister Ashley and her Boyfriend Nick and then from there Trent picked my up at Ashley's house. Over break I did WAY too much shopping, mostly with Betsy but Trent a little too. Monday me and Betsy went to Ann Arbor and did some shopping at the mall there, Tuseday me and Trent went shopping while Betsy was at work and then Wednesday me and Betsy went up to Birch Run to do even more shopping. Overall I think I almost doubled my wardrobe which I already didn't need to do. So now I'm broke and nobody gets presents! haha just kidding. :) Thursday Me, Betsy, and Trent went over to their friends Hiedi and Shuans for dinner. The food was soo good. I love Thanksgiving dinner because it actually give you a reason to pig out as much as you want and you don't have to feel bad about taking seconds or thrids or if your really hungry fourths! Friday then me and a couple of friends went to the movies, hungout and went out to dinner. After that we went over to Ashley's friend from high schools house and hung out with a bunch of their friends. The next morning we had to leave which was a bummer because I really did not feel like sitting in a car for 8 1/2 hours, but we made it back safe and all in one piece. and now it's back to school work again.

2 days until Thanksgiving Break YAY!

I can't wait until break. Tech gets a full week off for break, but I decided that I needed mine to be longer so I'm leaving Thursday afternoon after classes. Not only do I get all that time off but I also get to go and see Betsy and Trent! YAY! I'm so excited to go and see them because that means I get a real mall to shop at!

Origonally I was going to drive the full 10 hours by myself, which I was not looking forward to. But now I get 2 people to go down with! I was talking to my pledge sister Ashley about it yesterday and how much I was not looking forward to the long lonely trip. She and her boyfriend were planning on leaving Wednesday but because he has a class thruday that he can't miss they have to stay and said that I could go down with them. It works out great for all of us becasuse the both hate driving through the U.P. and seeing how I'm used to it I'll do that part. Also, I loath the bridge with a passion so Nick is going to drive that part and then Ashley will drive down state too. They only live about an hour north of Betsy too so they'll have to pick me up. Oh how things end up working out when your not expecting it!

ME domesticated?

So my blog that I had finished jsut deleted itself which I am not happy about. But anyways, I bought a sewing machine this week! yes me with a sewing machine. It was a half impulse buy, I decided that I had to get one because I've had to sew things like 3 times now in the past 2 months, and seeing how I am a horrible hand sewer (I'd prpbably win the award for worst hand sewer if there was one) I decided that I must get one. while fiddling with a few there was an older couple just watching me the whole time. After about twn minutes I found a cheap enough one that wouldn't make me broke. I was walking up the aisle and I realized that I wasn't sure if it came with a needle or not so as I was standing in the middle of the row half way up to the front the older couple came up to me out of no where and told me to go back to the aisle that we were jsut in and that the needles were right acrossed the the machines, they even told me what kind to get! after I found the needles I was waiting in line at the register and they popped out of no where again! This time they asked me if I found everything ok and asked what me me decided to get the one I got and not a Singer? I was like uhh.... I don't know It looked nicer and easier to use?
After the 45 minutes it took me and a a friend to figure out work it and after the half a dozen times I had to throw our kitten across the room, she was tryying to sit on the machine, I took it over to the sorority house and showed 3 of my pledge sisters how to sew! yes, me, teaching others how to sew. Today even I am gonna help one of them sew their holloween costume!
So besides sewing I have taken up real cooking, not jsut things out of boxes! The only two things that I have mastered so far are Aunt Rose's fish and Melissa's cranberry orange but salade stuff. On my list to master is Sweedish pancakes, Fudge, pie, cabbage rolls (now that I know the secret) and other really yummy foods!

So, here I am blogging now I guess. I've been thingink about starting one for awhile and jsut haven't. Seeing how I couldn't post my message on granny's board without having a blog name I decided what a perfect opportunity to start one! YAY!
